Personability, and kindness. Those are the first two words that come to mind when thinking about Davinda and her beautiful business. That’s because she makes it a point to connect with her clients and show them what a difference we can all make with random acts of kindness. This business strives to show the world who you really are through the art of photography, and more importantly, show you how beautiful you are.
Personability
Davinda has always made it one of her top priorities to personalize each photoshoot that she does. This is what I believe to be one of the biggest reasons that this business is so successful and unique. It is rather intriguing how Davinda takes such a different perspective to creating the art we call her photos. Most photographers try to take the most beautiful pictures, period. But Davinda? She takes it to a new level by trying to take the most beautiful pictures of you. She does this in two different ways. When Davinda is shooting, she makes sure that your inner beauty is shown just as much as your outer beauty, and she always goes the extra mile to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
Shooting with Davinda is such a pleasure because not only are the pictures always incredibly gorgeous, but they always capture who you really are, with little bits and pieces of your personality. Davinda makes sure to find a location to shoot that will help achieve her goal of expressing who you are. Trying to write down a persons’ best qualities, personality traits, skills, hobbies, etc., is hard enough, but trying and succeeding to show all of that through a photo is truly talent, and that’s exactly what Davinda does. She does this so greatly by getting to know her client, and asking what sports they do, or what they want to do in the future, if they have pets of great value to them, and so much more.
One of last year's senior models, Sophia Warf, asked Davinda if there was any chance that she could have one of her senior sets be a recreation of the incredibly famous Dirty Dancing movie. So, what did they do? Exactly that. They went to a lake and shot incredible photos that showed Sophia and her love for the arts so clearly.

Teen Team model, Lydia Abbuhl, is an active member of 4-H with multiple animals. For her birthday shoot, Davinda went and took pictures of Lydia with her pigs, rabbits, and even a duck! In these pictures Davinda truly captured the love of animals that Lydia has, and she looked like she was in her true element.

If you are a shy or introverted person, your worst fear is probably being put under the spotlight for everyone to see. This does happen to be the case with quite a few of Davinda’s clients, however it is never a problem. Why? Davinda always makes sure that you are comfortable with your surroundings, wardrobe, and poses, while at the same time taking small steps with you outside of your comfort zone if you are willing. She does this to help you open up and become more comfortable with yourself. For example, if you got your permit and were learning how to drive, but you never drove on the interstate until you got your license. Then you are driving on the interstate for the first time all by yourself, which would be terrifying. But, if you had practiced a few weeks earlier with an experienced driver at your side, giving you tips, then it wouldn’t be as scary right? That’s what taking pictures with Davinda might feel like to you if you have never been under that spotlight before. A little scary, but you always have her with you along the way, and anytime it gets too scary, she will gladly let you pull over and take the wheel herself. Davinda helps you take those small steps and grow personally in ways you might’ve never before imagined to be possible.
Kindness
All business owners have to treat their clients with respect and kindness to some level in order to keep their business, and yes, Davinda does that, but past the expected level. She treats her clients as kindly as close friends, which is a great quality to have. Davinda does this so much that kindness has become almost the brand of Capture Life Photography by Davinda. How does she do this so well? Davinda is constantly looking for opportunities for herself and her modeling teams to treat others with kindness, even outside of day-to-day interactions. She also makes sure to verbally send that message and encourages participants on her modeling teams to do the same.

Being a part of Davinda’s Teen Team, I have often found myself stumbling upon messages from Davinda about doing things like Pajama drives to help those in need, or even an Advent Calendar of Kindness! How awesome is that?! Who would have thought that treating people with kindness can go from being as big as working together to go out of our way for those in need, to as small as little random acts of kindness to do each day leading up to the holidays like holding a door open for someone, or giving a compliment to someone you don’t know.

The big deal about both these big and small acts of kindness is that they can be life changing for the people around you, along with yourself. I could not explain to you how excited I got once completing my daily advent act of kindness and talking to Davinda about it. I eventually caught myself smiling more in the hallways of school or saying good morning to people I would see in the hallways, whether I knew them or not. This made me a better person, because not only was I doing a small part in brightening other peoples’ days, but I was also brightening my own. You never know what is going through someone’s mind and doing something as small as smiling and saying hello to someone as you pass by them, could change the course of their whole day.
Davinda not only does these things herself, but she is constantly trying to remind others to follow in her footsteps. She makes a big difference by advocating for kindness and openly trying to get others to do the same. She has created a pyramid effect by first treating people kindly, and then encouraging them to do the same towards others. The best thing about this is that she has started with the youth that she takes pictures of. Davinda has started in such an important place because teaching teens to go out and spread kindness will not only affect them, but their future friends and children. This will help us grow our future generations to make this world a kinder place. Although the world will never be perfect, and it will never be 100% filled with kindness and happiness, we can still do our own little part to take a step closer. No matter how small it may be, it is still a step forward.
From all of us at Capture Life Photography by Davinda, we encourage you to take a small step and treat someone with kindness today.

I couldn’t have agreed more Lizzie! Davinda is such a great photographer and a huge mentor to so many of us! I’m also very proud of you! Congratulations for publishing this masterpiece!
Lizzie, this blog post brought me to tears! You have perfectly described my mother and the incredible talent that she has. She is so beyond passionate for this career that it has never felt like a job to her. She genuinely enjoys going to every photoshoot, editing session, and image reveal. She gives her all to every single one of her clients, not because she has to, but because she WANTS to. It’s so fulfilling as her daughter to be able to see her light up when talking about her seniors/teen team/families. She truly is the very best photographer for so so many reasons…. but her ability to capture everyone’s inner beauty through a photo is my personal favorite. I…
I completely agree. My daughter Paige Bailey is very shy and Davinda made her very comfortable and was encouraging the entire time. Her compassion and her ability to let each individual personality shine is priceless.
Kindness matters and Davinda is truly a blessing.
