Mack is an inspiring 16-year-old sophomore at Field High School who recently joined Davinda’s Teen Team. The Teen Team is more than just a group of high school models—it’s a place where young women grow in confidence, character, and connection. Though this is Mack’s first year, she has already blossomed from a shy, quiet girl into a self-assured and engaged team member.

From Shy to Confident
When Mack first joined, she was hesitant and reserved, but now she eagerly jumps into pictures and chats with everyone around her. She attributes her personality and outlook on life to her deep sense of positivity. Mack shared, "I tend to find beauty in everyone and everything. I also tend to think very in-depth, so I really try to dig deep with people and find the good in everyone." This mindset has allowed her to form meaningful bonds with every member of the Teen Team.

A Special Bond with Grandma Kathy
A major influence in Mack’s life is her grandmother, Kathy. Mack adores and admires her grandmother’s kind heart and loving support. "She just has such a kind soul, and I feel so comfortable around her. She's always on my side and makes sure I know that she's proud of me. She's really funny too!" Mack cherishes the time spent with her grandma, whether it’s shopping, grabbing food, or simply talking.

Cousins & Best Friends: The Power of Connection
Another key figure in Mack’s life is her cousin Morgan, who introduced her to the Teen Team. Growing up, they were inseparable, spending almost every day together. Though their schedules get busier during the school year, they still make time for each other, especially in the summer. "A lot of the time when we hang out, we go to my grandma's, get food, make TikToks, and just talk! I love being on the Teen Team with her because it's just another thing we get to do together, and we get lots of amazing pictures."
Friendship is incredibly important to Mack, and she holds her best friends, Bella and Anna, close to her heart.
Mack and Bella met in sixth grade through choir and quickly clicked. Though they drifted apart for a time, this year has brought them closer than ever. "She understands me more than anyone else. I trust her with anything and everything. She's also drop-dead gorgeous!" They share similar humor, experiences, and interests, making their friendship incredibly strong. One of Mack’s favorite memories with Bella was their weightlifting sessions earlier this school year, which made working out fun and motivating.
Mack also values her friendship with Anna, a new but cherished connection. "She's really funny and has such a loud personality. She always has so much energy and is always down to do anything. She's also drop-dead gorgeous, and I love her!" Their friendship is filled with laughter, adventure, and genuine support for one another.

Overcoming Shyness & Embracing Confidence
Though Mack has a naturally shy demeanor, she has learned how to break out of her shell over time. "Most people probably don't know that I'm not as closed off as they think I am. I'm definitely very shy when I first meet people, but once I start talking, I just keep going!" Her strategy for overcoming shyness is simple but effective: shifting her mindset. "I just remind myself that nothing is really that serious. There's no reason to care about what others think of me or what I say." She encourages others to take small steps, like engaging in conversations, speaking up in class, and gradually expanding their comfort zone.

Interests & School Life
Beyond the Teen Team, Mack enjoys spending her free time going on walks, hanging out with friends, and going to the gym. She is also part of her school’s yearbook club, where she has built stronger connections with her peers. Her favorite classes are Spanish and conceptual chemistry, largely because of the engaging and relaxed teaching styles of her instructors. She appreciates how they create a comfortable classroom environment while keeping students accountable for their work.

The Teen Team’s Impact
Mack’s journey with the Teen Team has been a transformative experience, shaping her into a more positive and confident person. "I have gained so much positivity and confidence. I feel like it has helped me to be a better person in general. I have met so many amazing people, and I also get so many amazing pictures!" she shared.
For any girl considering joining the Teen Team, Mack has three pieces of advice: "Everyone is so nice, and you’ll make many friends. You’ll gain so much confidence because of how uplifting everyone is. And it’s just an amazing, fun experience overall that I would definitely recommend."

Looking Toward the Future
Looking ahead, Mack envisions a bright future for herself. In ten years, she sees herself as a college graduate with a psychology degree and possibly newly married. Mack has her sights set on Kent State University. She loves that it’s close to home, seems like a great school, and is in an area she’s already familiar with. As she continues to grow, she is grateful for the Teen Team for opening her eyes to the kindness in the world and helping her develop into the person she is today. With her warm heart, deep-thinking nature, and ever-growing confidence, there’s no doubt that Mack will continue to inspire those around her.
We are so proud to have Mack on the Teen Team and can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes in the future!
