At Capture Life Photography, we’re not just about capturing pretty pictures — we’re about celebrating people. And today, we’re thrilled to feature someone truly special from our Teen Team: Jenna Canale, a sophomore from Southeast High School who radiates positivity, passion, and purpose.

This is Jenna’s second year as a part of the Teen Team — a handpicked group of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who come together not just to model, but to uplift one another, make lasting friendships, and grow in confidence and character. And if you’ve ever met Jenna, you know she embodies exactly what the Teen Team stands for.

What Makes Jenna, Jenna?

When we asked Jenna what makes her unique, her answer was both heartfelt and inspiring:

“My optimistic mindset and always trying to see the best in every situation. I hold myself to high moral standards and stay true to who I am, refusing to let others change my perception of myself.”

Jenna’s journey hasn’t always been easy. Like many teens, she once struggled with insecurities and the pressure to fit in. But through self-discovery and surrounding herself with people who truly see her, she embraced who she is — and that’s when everything changed. Now, she’s someone who thrives on authentic connections, and her confidence shines from the inside out.

A Life Full of Purpose & Passion

Jenna is what we like to call a go-getter. Her calendar might be packed, but her heart is always wide open. She thrives on staying involved and finds joy in meeting new people and creating lasting memories wherever she goes.

Her school life is filled with leadership and service. For the past two years, she’s been a class officer, taking on responsibilities like planning events and raising funds for her class. She’s also a dedicated member of the Leo’s Club, where she volunteers her time doing meaningful work such as donating shoes, making tie blankets, and collecting recyclable materials. This year, she joined the student council — she’s still learning her exact role, but she’s already loving the chance to be involved in planning big events like homecoming and celebrating teachers through appreciation activities. Jenna is also part of a group called Climate Change, made up of sophomores and juniors who are committed to making the school a more welcoming and united space. The group focuses on creating stronger bonds among students and fostering a more inclusive environment.

Outside of her leadership roles, Jenna has a unique creative talent that many people don’t know about — she sews! She’s been sewing since she was little and is an active member of her 4-H sewing club. Over the past two years, she’s even had her creations judged at the state level and taken home awards. Her sewing projects range from pajamas and skirts to tearaway pants and even a custom hot pink suit. One of her proudest accomplishments was designing and sewing her own homecoming dress — talk about style and skill.

On top of it all, Jenna is also a dedicated athlete. She’s been running cross country and track for four years and has played basketball for eight years. Just last year, she joined her school’s danceline, adding yet another experience to her already impressive list. Cross country is one of her favorite sports because of how laid back and fun the team is. She loves how they always find ways to make the long runs more enjoyable, and the feeling of hitting a personal record after a race is always a high point. Basketball has brought her some of her favorite memories, especially a summer camp where she and her team played nearly 30 games in three days, shared bunk beds with other teams, and created hilarious memories she still laughs about today. That camp experience helped strengthen their team chemistry and made their bond even stronger.

In track, she runs mid-distance, often training with the same small group of girls — most of whom are seniors this year. They push each other to be better every day, and Jenna knows she’ll miss them deeply next season. One of her favorite team memories is a rhinestone-bedazzling party after practice, where they all decorated their spikes together. And as for danceline, Jenna says nothing beats the mixture of nerves and pride she feels as she marches onto the field during halftime, knowing the hard work and hours of practice that led up to each performance.

Through it all, Jenna credits her parents and grandparents as the backbone of her support system. “I can always count on my parents and grandparents to watch me in everything I participate in. I feel so supported when I look up into the stands and see a whole group there to cheer me on. Without my parents, I wouldn’t be able to be as involved as I am, and I would have missed out on so many good memories and opportunities.”

Looking Ahead

After high school, Jenna plans to attend college (though she’s still deciding where) and hopes to keep playing sports — maybe even coaching one day. She’s drawn to careers in healthcare and is especially interested in becoming a radiologist or working in the field of medical imaging. One thing is certain: wherever life takes her, Jenna’s goal is simple but powerful — help people.

Why We Love Having Jenna on the Teen Team

Jenna’s warmth and authenticity make her a cornerstone of the Davinda Teen Team. She leads by example and lifts others up — whether through kind words, quiet encouragement, or simply showing up with her whole heart.

Her top three favorite things about the Teen Team?

  1. Davinda

  2. The girls

  3. How the team spreads positivity

One moment that especially stuck with Jenna was when the team came together to support a girl who was being bullied by showering her with kindness and encouragement.

“Since joining, my confidence has grown tremendously along with the friendships that I have gained from the team.”

Final Words

Jenna is proof that you don’t need to be loud to be a leader, and that staying true to yourself is one of the bravest — and most beautiful — things you can do. Whether she’s behind the sewing machine, running on the track, dancing under the stadium lights, or smiling in front of Davinda’s lens, Jenna brings her whole heart.

We’re so proud to have her on the Teen Team for a second year, and even more excited to see the amazing things she’ll continue to do — in front of the camera and far beyond.

Keep shining, Jenna. The world is better with your light in it.
